Neighborly Greetings serves as a Marketing service for Businesses. A hand delivered bag full of promotional items is delivered to someone who doesn't expect it. They come to the door, they are happy, feeling special...
So first, an impression is made, creating a feeling of comfort. They will associate that with all the businesses in the bag.
The second most important thing with being in the bag is the ability for a follow-up card. All of these people are possible clients. Take the names and addresses you will receive each month and write them a small card introducing yourself. This card should be hand written, yes, it takes time but the more personal it is the more response you will get.
Thirdly, is the item you chose to place in the bag. If they have an item that is useful or that they might see everyday you will have better response. Yes gift certificates are great, but if they don't need your service right away they will probably loose that certificate. Also have patience, they don't call the next week. Sometimes it may take a little while. They may wait a couple of months, but normally they respond.. especially with an item that they use everyday.
